Spiritual Gift and Challenge Stars

On Star Sunday, members and guests are invited to receive a “Spiritual Star” for 2012. No “magic” or “predictions” are involved in the receiving of these stars. Rather, they are meant to be a spiritual tool to help us move forward in our Christian journeys. These stars offer us an opportunity to consider how we might serve God and reflect Christ’s light during the coming year. This year you will find words and phrases naming spiritual qualities and ministerial callings taken from scripture.

The attribute or ministry calling named on your star may affirm a gift you have already been actively using or may challenge you to develop new forms of personal ministry. You are invited to let the star point you in either a new direction or toward an increased reflection of and commitment to a direction you are currently taking.

Let yourself be challenged to discover the full extent of the meaning of your star. Part of the spiritual journey is to come to understand, at a deeper level, concepts that may, at first glance, seem rather simple.

One way to do this is to keep the star visible and as the year progresses consider its meaning - perhaps exciting breakthroughs are waiting!

The spiritual gifts we receive in life are not meant to be left on the shelf. They are to be used and shared to build our faith community. Discussing our stars with others may lead to new insights and possibilities. If you have any questions about what is on your star, please ask a fellow traveler and/or the pastor.
